The first public reading of "Waterwoman", a play adapted by Lenore Hart and David Poyer from Hart's prizewinning novel, presented by Arts Enter Cape Charles and directed by Clelia Cardano Sheppard. Subtitled "A Play of the Eastern Shore", it is set on remote Yaupon Island, where Annie Revels takes up her late father's work as a waterman to support her ailing mother and younger sister Rebecca, until the arrival of a stranger, Nathan, changes both sisters' lives. Lenore Hart also performs, as Mam Revels; dialect coaches are helping the cast with the Shore's distinctive speech. Tickets: $15 per t
